GRIT-Growing In Resilience Tenaciously

At this moment, there is a battle happening. Can you sense it? Do you see it?

In society, the word Grit has negative cogitations to it. It has been defined as the lowest level, the bottom of the barrel, as grimy, dirty filth that should be shunned away. However, Webster’s dictionary’s definition doesn’t depict what society has created for the word grit. Webster’s dictionary meanings for the word is broken down into using the word as a noun or a verb.

In the noun definition, it states Grit as-

a hard, sharp granule a: the structure of a stone that adapts it to grinding

b: firmness of mind or spirit: unyielding courage in the face of hardship or danger

For the verb, definition Grit is- to give forth a grating sound to cause (one’s teeth) to grind or grate

For the believer Grit is a dominant position to be in; this is part b of Webster’s dictionary definition and exactly where God Himself wants us all to be; having a firmness of mind and spirit: unyielding courage in the face of hardship or danger. It’s right here where God comes into our lives and begins His mighty work. It’s in our weakness where we come to an end, and God begins! Currently, you’re facing the most robust circumstance, and you are the target of a fierce battle that seeks to handicap your potential. Now the enemy knows just what sneaky tactics to use to come against you as he has been watching and waiting for the most vulnerable time to strike; undetected, inconspicuous, and unexpected, always making the results devastating. This battle is over what you believe to be true about yourself, and it’s time to gear up and fight. Stop allowing the enemy to intrude with lies. Walk-in truth, because there isn’t time to fake it.

Because the enemy will speak and continue to speak lies as that is his MO (mode of operation). There is no truth in him. He will skew your perception about what you are capable of, who you are, and make you doubt your calling.

Running away isn’t the answer either; this battle will occur whether we choose to acknowledge it or not. Get into your mind’s eye of someone from your past or maybe even your now that has unintentionally, or deliberately, spoken words of false identity over you? Now, think about how that has made an impact on your life. The acceptance of those remarks have taken root and developed into self-doubt, fear, and worry as your present truth? These messages have altered and or hindered your growth and your obedience to God’s calling on your life. By acknowledging the battle and standing up to fight, you are putting an end to the enemy’s devices over your life. Because the day we were born, this battle began, but thank God for His covering, grace and His mercy! Hallelujah! Praise break!!!!

Take this time now to speak out loud, using the voice that God has given you. Hearing the truth comes from your own voice allowing new roots to take form and renew your mind. Use now the life that is in the power of the tongue! Step into your truth and be vulnerable, brave, bold, and courageous, simultaneously.

Rewire your mind, move forward with Grit and align your head to your heart. There is no time like the present! It’s in the GRIT where we catapult into His manifested destiny.

Utilize these Grit acronyms to facilitate a newfound mindset for pushing past adversity.

Grow-seek new perspectives, ideas, and inputs. Resilience- use adversity and bounce back from it. Instinct -go about life with the light on allowing the Holy Spirit to lighten the load and lead. Tenacity- persevere, never give up, and have unwavering faith.

You’ll be able to absolutely show up, show out, and unapologetically pursue your God-given potential. It’s in God’s plan that we find our purpose, our identity, and our voice. To walk in favor, love, humility, and grace. It’s in His plan we finally are free. Once we decide to give everything over to God and let Him be the captain, the King, the GPS (God’s positioning system) for our every move then and only then will we be able to live, move and have our being truly?

It’s right there on our knees, in that mess, in that pain, in that addiction, in the lustful place where God is saying; hello, I’m here, knock-knock may I please come in? I have someone else I’d love for you to meet. His name is Jesus. Our Lord is a gentleman and will never intrude or force Himself upon you. He promises that He will make it all better. God asks that you trust Him, and give it all over to Him. He is so in love with us and to prove it He has given us His one and only son Jesus Christ to walk with us every step of the way.

“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.”

Romans 12:2 TPT

I pray that the Lord give peace, strength, and guidance throughout this consecrated expedition, unveiling true identity—the one specifically designed for you as He formed you in your mother’s womb. May you experience transfiguration in what you believe about who you are and Who’s you are. May you know and sense the unwavering love the Father pours over you. Lastly, I pray that you walk in freedom and confidence all the days of your life and you dwell in the house of Lord forever.
